Activated Clay

Activated clay is clay, usually of bentonite origin, which has been treated to improve its ability to adsorb. is the adhesion of atoms, ions, biomolecules or molecules of gas, liquid, or dissolved solids to a surface. This process creates a film of the (the molecules or atoms being accumulated) on the surface of the . Activated clay is processed with acid, upping the adsorption properties of the clay considerably. There are a number of applications for this product and Filchem has access to world-leading suppliers including BASF. Filchem is able to provide the BASF F-20 product which is ideal for a range of applications in the mining and mineral processing industry.

F - 20 is an activated adsorbent designed for general purpose decolorizing and purifying oils from petroleum based and hard-to-bleach fatty sources. It is characterized by high adsorbent efficiency and low oil retention.
