Activated Carbon Producers

Filchem sources a wide range of coconut shell, coal and wood based carbons in granular, extruded and powder forms from very well established high quality producers.

A series of impregnated Activated Carbons are available for more specialised applications. These utilise the combined effect of chemical reaction and adsorption to remove contaminants that are not readily absorbed by Activated carbon alone.

Examples of chemical compounds that are successfully controlled by using impregnated Activated Carbon are: Ammonia, Sulphur Dioxide, Hydrogen Sulphide, Formaldehyde and Mercury.

Filchem offers a comprehensive design service allowing for calculation of pressure drop, theoretical life of carbon, amount required for a given set of conditions and dimensions, for both air and water use. The spread sheets can be used to calculate dimensions required to provide a given pressure drop, first break through contaminants from a series of contaminants in air, and graphs showing design parameters where there is incomplete information.
