SAMSUNG FINE CHEMICALS

SamsungSamsung Fine Chemicals (SFC) are a Korean based company launched in 1964. They began as a producer of basic chemical products including intermediate materials used in a diverse range of industries. Since then they have continued their expansion and have offices throughout Asia and in Europe. Their product lines now include high value-added fine chemical products which require a highly sophisticated production technology. Samsung manufactures a wide range of products including Chlorine, Cellulose and Ammonia based materials.

Through the continual upgrade and expansion of their manufacturing facilities, SFC have kept themselves at the forefront of innovative process technologies. Their own R&D Centre, as well as the network of various R&D organisations around the world, help to create unparalleled customer satisfaction in striving for ‘the best products and services’.

The core business of SFC is Chlorine and Cellulose related products which are used in a wide range of industries from textiles to construction. The Mecellose® range, with its high potential, is increasing its market share globally, and expanding into emerging markets due to the development of new grades and continuous production capacity increases.
The key range of SFC products supplied by Filchem is the Mecellose® range.  This is an environmentally friendly, cellulose based product obtained from wood or cotton. The water insoluble natural cellulose polymer is converted into their water soluble Mecellose® through Etherification.

Predominant uses of Mecellose® are:

  • Thickening agent
  • Moisture retention agents
  • Lubricant
  • Stabiliser

The application of Mecellose® varies from

  • Construction
  • cement and ceramic extrusion
  • polymerization
  • paint
  • detergent
  • personal care

Mecellose® is growing in popularity across this diverse range of industries in large part because of its flexibility and ease of use. The chemical and physical properties such as water solubility, pH stable, enzyme resistance, thickening qualities, and many more, will give your end-product consistent and reproducible results. With approximately 35 different grades of Mecellose®, supplied in surface treated powder, standard powder, or surface treated granular forms, there is certainly a grade of Mecellose® that will suit your application.

Mecellose® comes supplied in either a 20kg 3-ply Kraft laminated bag with a PE inner liner, or in 300kg bulk bags.
